What's New for the 2026 Volkswagen ID.4?

Volkswagen has introduced the 2026 ID.4 with a few minor tweaks, keeping the core of this popular electric SUV consistent with the previous model year. While a mid-year refresh is possible, the initial 2026 lineup primarily sees an updated mirror for the Pro S trim. Even with these subtle changes, the ID.4 continues to be a favorite in its class thanks to its spacious cabin, smooth driving dynamics, and generous standard technology.

What Are the 2026 ID.4 Trims & Features?

The 2026 Volkswagen ID.4 is available in five trim levels.

The entry-level Limited trim is well-equipped with heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a mixture of cloth and synthetic leather upholstery. Tech highlights include a 12-inch touchscreen with built-in navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless phone charger. This model features 19-inch wheels as standard.

Moving to the Pro trim provides a larger battery for extended range and 20-inch alloy wheels. The interior is upgraded with a larger 12.9-inch touchscreen and ventilated front seating. For those who choose all-wheel drive, this trim also includes a trailer hitch and a heated windshield.

The S Limited trim focuses on luxury and convenience, adding a panoramic glass roof, power-adjustable front seats, and a hands-free liftgate. Other upgrades include LED adaptive headlights, a heated steering wheel, full synthetic leather seats, and enhanced ambient lighting.

The Pro S trim includes all the benefits of the earlier trims and features the new mirror for the 2026 model year.

At the top of the range, the Pro S Plus features 21-inch wheels and a striking exterior with a black roof and silver rails. It enhances passenger comfort with tri-zone climate control and heated rear seats, while the driver benefits from power-folding side mirrors. A Harman Kardon audio system provides a premium listening experience.
