There are three trim levels in the VW Passat lineup for 2022. The trim line starts with the SE, which is followed by the R-Line and a new top trim level called the Limited Edition. The SE replaces the base trim called the S, the previous entry-level model for the Volkswagen Passat. The SE has all the conveniences offered in the S and more. LED headlights are standard on the SE, and its interior also comes with dual-zone climate control. Remote start makes it easy to jump in and start the car whenever you have places to go. The SE also has a 6.3-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. The leather steering wheel gives the SE an upscale look and feel on the inside, and it also has satellite radio for an expanded list of radio station options. Simulated leather seats make for a comfortable ride, and there are two USB charging ports in the back for customers to enjoy. The SE also has a sunroof. The R-Line has some distinguishing elements inside and out. The R-Line upgrades to larger and more commanding 19-inch wheels with an alloy finish. It also gains a premium audio system. Special trim-specific badges and a unique front bumper are other highlights of the R-Line. The Limited Edition, which tops the line, features comfortable seats with a sporty leather finish. It has a hands-free trunk opening system and parking sensors.

One engine powers all trims of the 2022 Volkswagen Passat. The 2022 Passat gets a 2.0L engine with four cylinders and a six-speed transmission. The engine provides the Passat with 174 HP in maximum power output and up to 206 LB-FT in torque. The Volkswagen Passat has standard front-wheel drive.
