This past December, Volkswagen announced its plans to award 70 different scholarships to young refugees that are interested in furthering their education at an accredited university. These plans have been scheduled in recognition of the 70th anniversary of the UN Refugee Convention. Volkswagen cares a great deal about refugee assistance and has worked with the German United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees partner UNO-Flüchtlingshilfe.
Volkswagen noticed that there is a need for educational assistance for refugees. Young people across the globe traditionally have a 30 percent opportunity for higher education in comparison to five percent for refugees. To advance education and prepare for the labor force, Volkswagen is happy to announce its aid expansion plan. Volkswagen has been working to provide emergency aid to refugees over the past six years or so with great success.
