To show its commitment to customer happiness and satisfaction, Volkswagen sends new car owners home in a car covered by a factory warranty for vehicles purchased in a certain model year. Newer VW vehicles have manufacturer's warranties for their batteries, significant parts, and accessories. The warranties ensure that original components will be replaced or repaired free of charge if they break or are defective when installed by an authorized dealer. Additional warranty coverage plans are also optional.

Parts Limited Warranty

The Volkswagen Parts Limited Warranty covers fees associated with repairing or replacing parts that are new or factory-remanufactured. This warranty covers all original VW parts except for the battery and tires, covered through additional separate warranties. The Parts Limited Warranty ensures that defective parts or parts that break under normal operating conditions are replaced with properly functioning components. The warranty covers your vehicle's parts for the first year of ownership or the first 12,000 driven. The Parts Limited Warranty is transferable to other owners.

Accessories Warranty

The Accessories Warranty falls into two categories: a genuine Volkswagen Accessories warranty and separate manufacturer warranties for non-genuine accessories.  Genuine parts are those made by Volkswagen and installed by an authorized Volkswagen dealer. The Genuine Accessories Warranty provides coverage up to 12 months or 12,000 miles.

Battery Limited Warranty

Volkswagen guarantees that its new manufacturer-installed batteries will work up to a specific time. If the battery fails within the first two years that you own the car, Volkswagen will cover the cost of replacing the original battery with a new one at no charge. Factory replacement batteries are covered for all new VW vehicles. There is no limit based on mileage driven while the warranty is in effect. The warranty also covers manufacturing defects.

MPP Plans

Since your customer satisfaction is Volkswagen's main priority, the auto manufacturer has additional warranty coverage plans for those who want extended coverage past what the factory warranties provide.
