This seventh generation of the Jetta line is larger than the sixth generation Jetta with a more spacious interior. The Jetta features the latest generation Volkswagen that also includes the integration of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The 2019 Jetta also features standard LED headlamps and LED taillights on all of its trim levels.
To offer a better look at all the features of the 2019 Jetta, we have put together a review that looks at three categories important to car buyers. The first section will look at all of the trims and features of the 2019 Jetta. Next we will look at the performance of the 2019 Jetta including information on the powertrain and transmission. Finally, we will look at the standard and available safety features of the 2019 Jetta.
The 2019 Jetta features five trims. Each trim offers its own unique set of features. The first trim level is Jetta S which comes standard with LED headlights, 16 inch wheels and the VW Car-Net App-Connect. The next level up is the SE trim which includes all the standard features of the S trim plus keyless access with push-button start, panoramic sunroof and blind spot monitor. The R-Line trim includes 17" R-Line alloy wheels, two-tone leatherette seating surfaces and a foglight lamp set. Next up is the SEL trim with 10-color interior ambient lighting, BeatsAudio® and the Volkswagen Digital Cockpit. Finally, the SEL Premium features 17" Metallic alloy wheels with premium finish, 8" touchscreen navigation and leather seating surfaces. The 2019 Jetta offers a trim level designed to suit all types of drivers.
The 2019 Volkswagen Jetta features a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine which produces 147 horsepower and 184 foot-pounds of torque. In 0 to 60 acceleration tests, the 2019 Jetta is able to achieve a time of 7.6 to 7.9 seconds. The powertrain is mated to a six-speed manual transmission or an optional eight-speed automatic transmission. Note that the automatic transmission is standard in all but the base trim. With the automatic transmission, the 2019 Jetta is able to achieve a 30 city and 40 highway mpg rating. The 2019 Jetta is designed to offered spirited performance while delivering above average fuel efficiency in the city and on the highway.
The 2019 Jetta features front and rear crumple zones as well as a rigid safety cage designed to absorb crash energy. The Jetta also features the Intelligent Crash Response System (ICRS). In the event of a collision, where the airbags are deployed, the ICRS will activate the hazard lights, turn off the fuel pump, and unlock the doors. Other safety features available in the 2019 Jetta include an automatic post-collision braking system, tire pressure monitoring system and seven stability-enhancing systems. In a recent crash test, the 2019 Jetta achieved a good rating - the highest possible rating - in driver-side crash test, side crash test, roof strength, head restraints and seat tests from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Overall, the 2019 Jetta offers passive and active safety features from the latest generation of Volkswagen technology.
