Volkswagen Atlas Exterior

What is the Volkswagen Atlas Maintenance Schedule?

Every so often, your Volkswagen Atlas will need to go in for service to keep performing at its best and to make sure it is still safe to drive. To help you know when to bring your car in, there is a Volkswagen Atlas maintenance schedule in your driver's manual. The Atlas should also go in more often for oil changes and tire rotations if needed. You'll also find schedules for those services in the driver's manual, and our technicians can also tell you when to bring the car in for service.

15,000-Mile Service

For the Atlas, service typically begins at 15,000 miles, although the exact services that your vehicle requires might differ slightly based on your car's engine and its drivetrain. At 15,000 miles, the Atlas will need to visit a mechanic for an oil change again. The oil may be flushed and drained from the car and replaced with new oil. A mechanic might take a look at the engine's filter as well and replace it if necessary. A Volkswagen-trained technician will examine the Atlas's tires at this point to make sure they are properly inflated and are not wearing unevenly. Before your car leaves the shop, it will also have a general exterior inspection and an evaluation of its safety features.

30,000-Mile Service

Your Atlas will be due again for comprehensive service at 30,000 miles. This time, it will have a thorough inspection that includes a second oil change and engine filter replacement. The brakes are thoroughly checked as well, along with all the related braking components. Your Atlas will have its tires balanced and rotated if needed. The battery gets checked at 30,000 miles, along with the coolant system and the suspension system. Your car will also likely go for a road test.

60,000-Mile Service

At 60,000 miles your VW Atlas has its brakes checked again, and its coolant system flushed. It might get a new battery at this time. The Atlas might get new braking fluid as well, and it will likely need transmission fluid. The suspension system, cables, hoses, and belts are all checked for their safety and overall shape.

90,000-Mile Service

When the Atlas gets to 90,000 miles, it will probably get replacement spark plugs if that has not happened already. The transmission fluid is likely also changed at this point. The Atlas will have the windshield wiper fluid changed, along with the brake and coolant fluids.
