2022 Volkswagen Jetta vs 2022 Jetta GLI

If you're looking for a solid Volkswagen Jetta option for this year of 2022, the regular Jetta and the GLI are both completely viable options.

Performance

The biggest difference in all of the categories comes in the form of the performance options between Jetta and the Jetta GLI. There are quite a few similarities in the tech, but differences include that the new Jetta has 158 horsepower. This upgrade in power also has a great economy of MPG at 43 miles per gallon on the highway. The new Jetta is so efficient in MPG that it's not too far from what you might find in hybrid vehicles.

The GLI has the full 228 horsepower when the full upgrades are available. In other words, they are both highly powerful with different scales.

Appearance

While there are many similarities between these two approaches, there are differences in features if you look close. For example, the standard Jetta has sixteen-inch alloy wheels, while the GLI version has the 18-inch alloy wheels as standard. Also, the Jetta has a black honeycomb grille with a red accent strip as a way to stand out.

Features

Another way that you might see a difference comes with the infotainment option. For example, the GLI has an 8-inch touchscreen, whereas the entry version of the Jetta has a 6.5-inch screen. The digital display starts at just 8 inches with the Jetta, while the GLI gives you the 10.25-inch display.

This means that both models are highly powerful in how they allow you to read information while also using a powerful entertainment system; there's mostly just a difference in size. Both models also have strong features when it comes to safety as well. Both Jetta options have Front Assist, which warns you of potential collisions. This tech can also automatically stop you from hitting the obstacle as well. There's also the IQ drive system which is an option for the Jetta and a standard feature for the HLI.
